A real mixed bag here. For a serious subject matter it felt so dull and lifeless. Mirren was irritating but Cranston stole the film and is the only reason its worth watching. Sometimes it burst to life and became engaging other times it felt monotonous. Its set in the blacklisted period for Hollywood writers and stars 3.5/5 |

A well made creepy tale with some stunning scenes and acting. This a classic story remade and it was well worth doing. Some scenes are just breathtaking and Lily Rose Depp was amazing. Eggers is brilliant 4/5
